India vs Australia 2019 Predicted XI: After a rare whitewash at home, Virat Kohli-led Men in Blue would be eager to settle scores when they host Australia in a five-match ODI series. Australia would be brimming with confidence after winning the T20I series. Kohli and Co would know very well that it is going to be a new start. In all probability, experiments are likely to continue with merely five more ODIs to go for the World Cup.

What should be the Indian squad for the 1st ODI at Hyderabad?

In all likelihood, India may get their regular openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma playing at the top. There seems to be no tinkering there. KL Rahul after a good T20I series could get his opportunity at No 3, a position preferred by India captain Virat Kohli. But as coach Ravi Shastri has mentioned that he would like to see Kohli bat a No 4. The Men in Blue could try out this combination ahead of the WC just to see how it works out. It could also work out the other way, where Kohli sticks to No 3 and Rahul takes No 4. After that, Ambati Rayudu could be slotted in the middle order. So, to accommodate Rahul Rayudu could be pushed.

Then comes former captain MS Dhoni. He has been in good form off late and would like to continue it. The allrounders slot could be taken by Vijay Shankar in the absence of Hardik Pandya. Then comes the bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have done well in tandem and India would look to continue the same. The pace battery could be Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami.

Predicted XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli (C), Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Vijay Shankar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah
