India vs Australia 2019: Amidst the snowballing tension at the border between India and Pakistan, Saurashtra Cricket Association has offered to host the 4th ODI which is slated to be held in Mohali on March 10. The situation is so grave that 10 airports in the northern part of India had to be shut. The two-match T20Is were held in Vizag and Bengaluru.
While BCCI is yet to decide on its course of action, an email has been sent by SCA secretary Madhukar Worah to BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary about the availability of the stadium.
The mail read, “This is with reference to news article on possibilities of India vs Australia ODIs to be shifted from Mohali and Delhi in the prevailing situation. Kindly be informed, the SCA Stadium and its ground are all prepared to host an ODI if it’s required to be shifted.”
The Pulwama Attacks on February 14, conducted by Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad left the whole nation in shock and anger. The tensions between the two nations are at an all-time high and hence because of the safety of the players such a decision could be taken.
Meanwhile, after being whitewashed in the T20I series, the Men in Blue would look to bounce back in the upcoming ODIs as they get ready to finalise the World Cup squad. In all probability, experiments are likely to continue with merely five more ODIs to go for the World Cup.
