India vs Australia 3rd Test Melbourne: Former India opener turned commentator Aakash Chopra ripped apart Australian commentator Kerry O’Keefe for taking a jibe at Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja over the pronunciation of their names and pushing it further by saying why should someone name their kids with such names. According to several users on social media, O’Keefe said: “Why would you name your kid Cheteshwar Jadeja”. This did not go down well with the fans who came down hard at the Aussie commentator. Aakash maintained his dignity as he took to Twitter and wrote, “Canteen XI the other day. Why would you name your kid Cheteshwar and Jadeja (not even knowing that his name is not Jadeja) today. If you can’t pronounce someone’s name, it’s YOUR problem. Unfortunate. Unacceptable.”
Earlier, the 71-year-old faced the heat on Twitter for demeaning debutant Mayank Agarwal’s First Class triple hundred as he said it came against the canteen staff.
Meanwhile, at stumps on Day 4, Australia is 258/8 but the bigger picture is India are two wickets away from taking an unassailable 2-1 lead in the ongoing four-match Test series.
