India vs Australia 3rd Test Melbourne: India captain Virat Kohli showed class as at the post-match presentation where without taking any names he spoke of the standards of Indian first-class cricket and how that helps develop local talent into international cricketers. Earlier, Australian cricketer-turned-commentator Kerry O’Keefe questioned the standards of Indian first-class cricket and demeaned debutant Mayank Agarwals’ brilliant triple

“Our first-class cricket is amazing, which is why we won. Credit must go to first-class set-up in India, which challenges our fast bowlers in India, and that helps them abroad,” said Kohli after winning the Melbourne Test match and retaining the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Man of the match Jasprit Bumrah also credited the Indian domestic circuit for his good performance.

Meanwhile, Kohli joined former India captain Sourav Ganguly to become the most successful overseas captain for India. Both have led India to 11 overseas Test wins. This was also India’s first win at Melbourne Cricket Ground since 1981. MS Dhoni with six overseas wins to his name is on the second spot.

The last Test begins in four days from now and Kohli has made it clear at the presser that India will not be happy with anything less than a win, just goes to show that this is a different Indian team from the teams that have traveled to Australia in the past, with no offense to those teams.
