India vs Australia 3rd Test Melbourne: Head coach Ravi Shastri thanked Bharat Arun for preparing the pacers well after the emphatic 137 run victory at MCG. India created history by winning their first ever Boxing Day Test and it was also their first victory at the venue since 1981. The win helped India take an unassailable 2-1 lead in the ongoing four-match Test series. It was also the first time that India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Australian soil. Shastri took to Twitter after the win and his post read, “Excellent job, Guys. Full marks to B Arun for the work done with our bowlers.” Also Read - Mitchell Starc Reaches Settlement in Insurance Fight of USD 1.53 Million For Missing 2018 IPL Due to Injury

Jasprit Bumrah and the Indian pacers were the biggest reason for the win. Bumrah bagged the Man of the Match for his nine wickets in the match which also included a career-best of six for 33. The pacers were so good that the Australian commentators also felt that they were the difference.

The last and final Test starts from January 3 and it is expected to be a cracker of a contest as Kohli has made it clear that India will not be complacent and will go for a win and nothing less than that.

Meanwhile, India captain Virat Kohli is on the cusp of equaling another major milestone with a win in Sydney. After ending 2018 on a high, Kohli has the opportunity of starting 2019 on a high with a win in the fourth and final Test. If India manages to win at Sydney, they not only win the Test series 3-1 but Kohli will equal MS Dhoni as the most successful Indian captain in Tests. With the win at Melbourne, Kohli equaled Sourav Ganguly as the most successful overseas captain for India. Now, he has 26 Test wins to his name, whereas Dhoni sits at the top with 27 Test wins.
