“We are not shocked as we have won, we knew we had the talent regardless of the mistakes we have made. What takes more mentally is to bounce back after a loss and we did it. The boys had to put in a lot. Hats off to all the players,” Kohli on how the team reacted after the loss at Perth.

“May not think of Vihari’s contribution as big but he allowed me and Pujara to bat long as he had seen off the new ball hence I totally stand by the call of putting him as the opener,” the India captain backed the selection of Vihari and praised him for doing his bit perfectly.

“Ashwin is close to being match fit. regardless of it being the last Test, he will be there in the team if fit,” he also gave an injury update on their premier spinner.

The hosts will be looking to make amends for their poor performance in Melbourne with a stunning comeback in Sydney which has witnessed several emphatic wins for the home side over the years.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli, on the other hand, will be looking to build on the momentum and will leave no stone unturned to make it 3-1 at the SCG. The fourth and final Test starts on January 3, 2019.
