India vs Australia 3rd Test Melbourne: It seemed Ishant Sharma was pumped once he got rid of Travis Head bowled in the second innings of the 3rd Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Travis Head was looking to drive on the up but chopped it back onto his stumps. It was Ishant’s first wicket in the second innings, Head was out 34 and that seemed like the last nail in the coffin. It was a disciplined spell from Ishant has been rewarded, it was full and well outside off, Head’s feet went nowhere, the hands went searching for the ball. With his balance shot, all that Head could manage was a thick inside edge, the leg-stump takes a battering and so does Australian hopes of saving this Test.
Here is Ishant’s animated reaction:
His eyes swelled and with his long bouncy mane, it made for a great shot. Australia is currently reeling at 160/6 and it seems it may be all over today. The hosts still need 239 more to win which is looking more and more improbable.
India could take a 2-1 lead if they win here, which would benefit them a lot going into the last Test at Sydney.
Earlier, the Indian second innings was about Mayank Agarwal again as the opener scored a good-looking 42 to follow up his 76 in the first dig. But more than him, the second innings was about Pat Cummins who picked up six wickets.
