India vs Australia 3rd Test Melbourne:  The verbal altercation in the ongoing third Test between Australia and India has refused to die anytime soon. India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who was at the receiving end on day 3 of the MCG Test decided to give it back to his counterpart Tim Paine when the Aussie captain walked out in the middle on day 4. It was very much on the cards as Paine had given a mouthful to Pant. During the chat, the young Indian glovesman referred Paine as ‘temporary captain’ while Ravindra Jadeja was bowling and it was heard loud and clear on the stump mic. With Australia looking down the barrel, this was coming and Rishabh Pant has become a cult hero behind the stumps with his chatter. He has sure earned a reputation for himself. He also said, “We have a special guest. Have you ever heard of a temporary captain, Mayank? Only thing Paine can do is talking, talking.”

Earlier on Day 3, just before the close of play on day 3, Paine asked Pant to come and join the Big Bash League’s popular franchise – Hobart Hurricanes as former India captain MS Dhoni is back in the ODI squad against Australia. Pant is recently dropped from India’s ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series, starting on January 12, 2019. Paine seems to to be throwing a bait for all India batsman, earlier he said Rohit to hit a six and he would support the Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma did not fall prey to it and Rishabh Pant too did not. At stumps on Day 3, India has a lead of 346 runs with five wickets in hand. Pant is at the crease on six and giving him company at the other end is debutant Mayank Agarwal on 28.

Meanwhile, at tea on Day 4, hosts Australia are reeling at 138/5. They need 261 runs to win with five wickets in hand. Travis Head and Tim Paine are in the middle at the time of filing this copy.
