India vs Australia 3rd Test Melbourne: Australian speedster Mitchell Starc lost his cool and gave a mouthful to India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant during the 3rd Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Starc was tired after bowling 28 overs on a flat pitch under scorching heat and it seemed it had got to him and he gave it to the young Indian batsman. Pant had pulled a shortish ball from Starc to fine leg and took off for a run when Starc hurled some unpleasantry words. The left-armer said, ”He’s f***ing done it again mate.”
Here is the video of the incident.
Pant scored 39 off 76 balls but more importantly stitched a crucial 76-run stand with Rohit Sharma to help India extend their first innings total. India finally declared when Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed for four runs. India declared with the total on 443/7 in 169 overs.
Earlier in the day, Cheteshwar Pujara has hardly put a foot wrong during his another incredible knock in India’s ongoing tour to Australia. Pujara displayed zen-like focus, exuded brilliant confidence and showed unmatched determination as he slammed his 17th Test hundred in the third Test against Australia at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Thursday. With this knock, Pujara also completed the milestone of scoring 2000 Test runs away from home.
Kohli, on the other hand, was dismissed for a brilliant 82. Pat Cummins was the pick of the Australian bowlers as he picked up three wickets on a dead, flat MCG track against a star-studded batting line-up.
At stumps, Australia were placed at 8 for no loss from 6 overs with openers Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris were both unbeaten on 3 and 5 respectively. India lead by 435 runs.
