India vs Australia 3rd Test: India scripted history with an emphatic win by 137 runs against Australia. This was the first time since 1981 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground that India managed a win against the hosts Australia in the Boxing Day Test. After losing the second Test due to a lot of selection blunders and injury issues in the Indian dugout, it seemed India have lost their momentum and could cause the remaining series. But, Virat Kohli and Co. stood out well and put up a great show to beat the Kangaroos by a margin of 137 runs in the third Test. Jasprit Bumrah became player of the match as his 9-wicket haul in the match helped India to take an unassailable 2-1 lead in the series. He picked up his career-best figures of six for 33 to become the first Asian bowler to pick up a fifer in Australia, South Africa, and England.
Debutant Mayank Agarwal was the unsung hero of the match, his gritty knocks in both innings laid the foundation and solidified the top order, which gave the boost to Cheteshwar Pujara and captain Kohli. They both stitched the partnership of 170 runs, which played a pivotal role in the context. Moreover, Pujara once again showed great temperament and class by slamming his 17th Test ton and second in this series.
