Who is better; Sachin Tendulkar or Virat Kohli? This is the biggest debate in the cricket world, similar to who is the best footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. Former English skipper Michael Vaughan has finally opined on the subject and he feels current India captain Kohli is better than Tendulkar. That is a massive statement to make, considering Tendulkar is considered the epitome of batsmanship. Replying to a fan on Twitter, Vaughan revealed he feels Kohli is better. It was after Kohli’s ton at Ranchi, Vaughan took to Twitter and his post read, “The 🐐 is at it again … #Virat.”
It was on post that the fan posed the question. The fan’s question was, “Are you saying virat is actually the goat? Better than Brahman, sachin and Lara? Bold statement.”
Vaughan’s response was, “In One day cricket … YES …”
Meanwhile, Kohli would be chasing a world record at Mohali during the fourth ODI. If he slams his 42nd ton, he will become the first cricketer to register three consecutive centuries in ODI cricket twice. He hit a hat-trick of tons in 2018 against the touring Windies team. Kohli already has 41 ODI tons compared to 49 by Tendulkar. With the form Kohli is in, it seems it will not take him long to go past the long-standing record of Sachin Tendulkar.
On the other hand, Australia would dearly like to bring an end to the ‘Kohli-hundred-spree’ at Mohali. The visitors would also like to force a decider with a win at Mohali.
