India vs Australia 4th Test Sydney: India captain Virat Kohli has certainly out-captained his Australian counterpart Tim Paine in this series and Ajinkya Rahane’s fielding change and the catch of the next ball is just a testament to that. Kohli had just moved Rahane to the on-side and in a way forced Marnus Labuschagne to play the ball to where he wanted as the batsman till then was playing straight, but with the change of field, it seemed Kohli played his cards well once again. It was traveling and it went to the right of short mid-wicket where Rahane dived and completed a fine catch. Earlier, he also took a dolly to send Shaun Marsh packing. Labuschagne was looking seriously good, but can’t convert his start into something substantial.
Here is the video of how Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed for 39 by Mohammed Shami in the 52nd over.
India seems to have got off the start they were looking for after just a solitary Australian wicket fell in the first session on Day 3.
Earlier, India declared their first innings at a mammoth 622/7, thanks to daddy centuries from Cheteshwar Pujara (193) and Rishabh Pant (159*). India already has the Borden-Gaskar Trophy in the bag with a lead of 2-1 currently. Even if India lose, the possibilities of which are next to zero, India will create history by winning their first ever Test series in Australian soil. This Indian team is No 1 in Test side in the world hence the stakes on the Virat Kohli-led side is high.
Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara seems to have been the difference between the two sides. He has already amassed more than 500 runs in the series and has registered three centuries. The credit also has to go to the bowlers, who managed to take wickets and bowling out the hosts.
At the time of filing the copy, Australia was reduced to 157/4, Jadeja had picked up a couple of wickets and Kuldeep and Shami a wicket apiece.
