India vs Australia ODI 2019: Former India captain MS Dhoni and opener Rohit Sharma have landed in Australia for the ODI series that starts on Saturday at SCG. India fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kedar Jadhav was also there who will be joining the team for the last leg of the ODI series. India will take on Australia for a three-match ODI series which is expected to be a great contest.
India will start outright favourites after the confidence of winning a four-match Test series comprehensively. The Indian side has experience and youth which complement each other well and are a potent ODI unit. With the addition of the experience of MS Dhoni, India will be firm favourites. Here are the helicopter and the hitman landing on Australian soil.
Rohit Sharma was earlier part of the team in Tests but left in the middle because he had become a father. But, he did not forget to congratulate the Indian team on their marvellous win. He took to Twitter and congratulated the side.
The series will be crucial for MS Dhoni to stamp his authority and with a few good knocks as he has not been in the best of form lately to ensure he makes a good case for himself to get picked for the upcoming World Cup.
Meanwhile, the three ODIs against Australia will start on January 12 at the SCG, which will be followed by the second ODI slated for Jan 15 (Adelaide) and finally, the third ODI will take place on Jan 18 (MCG).
After which the India team will travel to New Zealand for a limited overs series. India will play five ODIs and three T20Is. The first ODI will be played on January 23 at Napier.
