New Delhi: Former India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik, commentating on the ongoing Test match between India and Bangladesh at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, is saying some interesting things about his former India captain MS Dhoni. Karthik states that Dhoni had made a comment regarding KL Rahul during his initial phase of international cricket.

In a conversation with other commentators, Karthik revealed that MS Dhoni used to rate Rahul very highly and believed that he can become all format opener for the Indian team. “I remember there was an ODI in Ranchi and MS Dhoni had come to the gym. It was during the embryonic stages of KL Rahul’s career and he said, ‘I think India have found an all-format opening batter in KL Rahul.’ That was the opinion of MS Dhoni on KL Rahul,” revealed Karthik.

KL Rahul is part of India’s playing eleven against Bangladesh. This match marks his 200th overall appearance for India since his debut in 2014.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first on Thursday, September 19. India faced early setbacks as Bangladesh clinched early wickets of Rohit Sharma (6off 19), Shubman Gill (0 off 8) and Virat Kohli (6 off 6).
