India is all geared up to take on Bangladesh in the one-off Test match between the two nations beginning Thursday. This is the first time that Bangladesh will play a Test match in India.

The match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The venue has hosted three Test matches previously.

India is currently the number 1 Test side after demolishing the England team last year but the task against Bangladesh is easier said than done.

Since 2000, India and Bangladesh have played 8 Test matches with the Men in Blue winning 6 while 2 matches ended in draws.

However, the Tigers have showed glimpses of their development. If Indian spinners can wreak havoc in the sub continent, Bangladesh also have their armour in place.

The young offspinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz had a remarkable introduction to Test cricket last year in Bangladesh, when England played two Tests.

Only 19, he took 22 wickets to be named Man of the Series with his best of 12 wickets coming in the second Test in Dhaka which Bangladesh won by 108 runs to level the series.

However, Miraz struggled in New Zealand where he managed four wickets in two Tests.

If India has R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja at their disposal, Bangladesh have the trio of Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Shakib Al Hasan and Taijul Islam.

Senior most Shakib Al Hasan has 165 Test wickets under his belt in 46 wickets while Islam also has taken 43 wickets in only 11 Tests.

Recalling the Test series of Bagladesh vs England, out of the 40 England wickets that fell in the two matches, 36 wickets of them were taken by Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Shakib Al Hasan and Taijul Islam.

Undermining the visitors can be harmful for the Indian team but Virat Kohli and co will be ready for the battle.
