Captain Virat Kohli is all set to join West Indian great Clive Lloyd and Australian former captain Ricky Ponting in an elite list of captains. Kohli, who is leading India for the 50th ODI as captain has 38 wins to his name, which makes him the joint-most successful ODI captain in the history of cricket.

Virat Kohli is going to lead India in Trent Bridge against World No 1 England in the 1st ODI on July 12.

Kohli took over after MS Dhoni gave up captaincy to focus on his batting way back in 2015. From there on in, Virat Kohli has taken the team forward and are No2 in ICC ODI ratings, just behind England. India can go past England to secure the numero uno spot if they win two out of the three ODIs.

Meanwhile, Kohli recently became the fourth batsman to breach the 200-run-mark in T20Is. Kohli personally has been in ominous form, for which he was awarded the prestigious Polly Umrigar Trophy. India is heading into the ODI series with a lot of confidence after they beat England 2-1 in the three-match T20I series.

Another record on the cards is MS Dhoni needs 33 runs to become the fourth Indian to score 10,000 runs.

Here is the list of batsman who has got to the 10,000-run-mark.

Sachin Tendulkar: 18,426

Kumar Sangakkara: (14,234)

Ricky Ponting: (13,704)

Sanath Jayasuriya: (13,430)

Dhoni has the chance of adding another feather to his cap. It is highly-likely this milestone will be achieved by Dhoni during the ODIs. He could become the fourth keeper to complete 400 dismissals in ODIs, he is just 3 shy of that feat.

As we speak, India has won the toss and opted to field first. Virat seemed happy with the toss.
