India vs England 2nd Test Day 4 Lord’s: India captain Virat Kohli departed for 17 bringing an end to Indian hopes of drawing the 2nd Test at Lord’s. It was Stuart Broad who got the big fish. Debutant Ollie Pope took a breathtaking catch to complete the act. Umpire Aleem Dar raised his finger, whereas a smiling Kohli opted for the DRS. A ball back, it was the DRS that saved him after Bairstow took a diving catch. Kohli was not lucky second time around.
Here is how he was dismissed.

What followed Kohli’s wicket was a disaster as Karthik registered a golden duck to Broad. Broad has not been among wickets, but this one burst from him seems to have changed it all. England is closing in on a victory at Lord’s and only rain stands between that. One has to accept that England batted when the sun was out and the conditions were good, whereas India batted under trying conditions with rain hovering and overcast conditions. But one cannot take anything away from the English bowlers, who made the most of the conditions.
It would become very difficult for India to come back in the five-Test series if they allow England a 2-0 lead.
Meanwhile, English seamer James Anderson picked up the wicket of KL Rahul and that was his 100th wicket at Lord’s. It happened in the 2nd Test Day 4 when India came out to bat after the hosts declared their innings with a lead of 289 runs. Anderson also joined Muralitharan to become the only bowler to take 100 wickets at a certain venue.

At Lord’s, he has at the top of the tree, with his partner-in-crime Stuart Broad in the second position with 79 wickets. Anderson also got the wicket of Murali Vijay. Vijay bagged a pair. Rain makes an entry and early lunch has been taken with India reeling at 17/2. Anderson also joined the 550-wickets club.
