India vs England 2025 4th Test, Day 2 LIVE Score and Updates:

That’s the end of the day’s play, and it clearly belongs to England. To be fair, they had the advantage of the conditions. The day began with overcast skies, helping their bowlers with the new ball, and by the time they came out to bat, things had become much easier. India didn’t help themselves either, with some poor bowling. As things stand, England will be aiming for a strong first innings lead. India’s fast bowlers, in particular, need to step up. Although Anshul Kamboj got a wicket, he’s been leaking a boundary almost every over, same with Siraj and Shardul Thakur, which just isn’t good enough at this level. That’s it from us for today. We’ll see you tomorrow, don’t miss it!

India vs England 2025 4th Test, Day 2 LIVE Score and Updates: That was a challenging over from Bumrah to Joe Root. Root has often struggled with balls that swing in, and Bumrah smartly targeted that weakness. Although Bumrah didn’t start the day strongly, he has improved as the game has gone on. India still has plenty to work on, the batters didn’t turn their starts into big scores, and the bowlers missed their lines and lengths too often. Still, if Bumrah can dismiss Root before stumps, it would give India a much-needed lift.

India vs England 2025 4th Test, Day 2 LIVE Score and Updates: Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the attack with about 20 minutes left in the day. According to ICC rules, five overs can still be bowled, but with delays and time-wasting, we might only see four, unless Gill brings in a spinner from the other end. Bumrah is bowling from the end where Jadeja was earlier, which is a bit surprising, since Jadeja was troubling Ollie Pope regularly. It’ll be interesting to see if Sundar gets a chance in these final minutes or if Gill sticks with Kamboj to finish the day. Either way, the one good sign for India is that the bowling can only get better tomorrow.

India vs England 2025 4th Test, Day 2 LIVE Score and Updates: Ben Duckett is out for 94 runs. He tried to cut a wide ball, but it bounced more than expected and went straight to keeper Dhruv Jurel, who took a good catch. India has had a strong 45 minutes since the drinks break, making important breakthroughs. Congrats to Kamboj for his first Test wicket. Joe Root has come to bat now, and we may see a change in bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah bowling to Root is a key battle, and Bumrah has often been successful against him.

India vs England 2025 4th Test, Day 2 LIVE Score and Updates: After the break, Ravindra Jadeja took a wicket by getting Zack Crawley out. Jadeja bowled a no-ball, so he had to bowl an extra ball and caught Crawley then. The batter moved forward to block the ball, but he edged it to KL Rahul in the slip, similar to how Yashasvi Jaiswal got out earlier to Liam Dawson. This is the important wicket India needed, and now they have a chance to take control. They should start by stopping the habit of giving away one easy boundary every over in this innings.

India vs England 2025 4th Test, Day 2 LIVE Score and Updates: Ben Duckett pulls one away for four. It’s tough to recall a time when India’s bowling unit looked this poor as a whole. In the Adelaide Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Harshit Rana leaked runs, and in Centurion, Prasidh Krishna had a rough outing. But today, every Indian bowler has struggled. Each of them has delivered at least one loose ball per over that’s been put away to the boundary. There was a lot of buzz around Anshul Kamboj’s debut, but so far, it’s turning out far from the dream start he might have hoped for.

India vs England 2025 4th Test, Day 2 LIVE Score and Updates: This phase of play feels like the old days when India struggled to maintain pressure with the ball. Since Virat Kohli became captain, the fast bowlers have improved a lot, but today’s performance is similar to how things were in 2011 or 2014, good deliveries followed by loose ones. Shardul Thakur, Anshul Kamboj, Mohammed Siraj, and even Jasprit Bumrah in his first spell have all made this mistake. No matter how many bowling options a team has, if someone gives away an easy ball every over, the pressure disappears and the match starts slipping away.

India vs England 2025 4th Test, Day 2 LIVE Score and Updates: The openers have now added a 100-run partnership. What makes this pair tricky for bowlers is how different their styles are. Zack Crawley is tall and prefers driving the ball, while Ben Duckett is shorter and plays more square cuts and shots off the back foot. This contrast makes it hard for bowlers to find a consistent line and length, and debutant Kamboj has clearly found it challenging. The ball isn’t too old yet, but with runs coming quickly, it might be a good time for India to bring on the spinners.

India vs England 2025 4th Test, Day 2 LIVE Score and Updates: Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah have opened this session. Bumrah has changed ends and is now bowling in the fifth stump area, though it’s still a bit too wide, even for a batter like Crawley. To trouble him, Bumrah needs to bowl fuller and make him drive, as that’s where Crawley often makes mistakes. This might be part of Bumrah’s plan to stay wide for a bit and then slowly move closer, tempting a false shot. Whatever the strategy, the improvement in line and length from India has come, but it’s about 40–50 runs too late.

India vs England 2025 4th Test, Day 2 LIVE Score and Updates: It’s tea now, Shubman Gill’s Team India will be looking to get a wicket in the final session after tea.
