India vs England 5th Test Kennington Oval: With no England Tour slated for some time after the Kennington Oval Test, this could be the last UK tour for Shikhar Dhawan (32), Dinesh Karthik (33) and Murali Vijay (34). India has already lost the five-match Test series 3-1 and with one more Test to go Virat Kohli’s team will play for pride. But, Karthik, who has not performed well and with many promising keepers waiting in the wings, this could be Karthik’s last UK tour. Karthik played the first two Tests before picking up an injury which meant young Rishabh Pant got a chance to make his debut. Pant has not performed exceedingly well, but with age catching up it seems there is no way back for Karthik. Dhawan has not been in the form he was expected to and with his age being 32, it is highly unlikely that he will tour the UK for Tests with the Indian team. Dhawan has blown hot and cold in the series, which has not helped his cause. He will still push his case but he has to remain fit to push his case and with age catching up, this could well be his last trip to the UK in the whites. One has to take into account that youngsters like Prithvi Shaw are waiting to grab their opportunity.

Vijay, who is 34 is in the twilight of his career. A sound opener, but has not lived up to the billing in the ongoing series, which saw him get dropped. It is highly unlikely he comes back to England to represent India in whites.

Vijay’s future is anyways in doubt after his dismal show in England.
