Earlier, it was reported that the absconding liquor baron apparently wanted to meet Virat Kohl’s men in England, but the Indian government denied him permission. The 62-year-old embattled businessman, who has been on bail on an extradition warrant since his arrest in April last year, is fighting extradition to India on charges of alleged fraud and money laundering amounting to around Rs 9,000 crore.
India are currently 1-3 down in the five-match series and are playing to regain the lost pride. Earlier on Friday, England skipper Joe Root won the toss and elected to bat in what is Alastair Cook’s last Test for England. England, which took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series after their 60-run win over the visitors in Southampton, have gone with the same playing XI.
Meanwhile, India have made two changes to the team that featured at The Rose Bowl. Ravichandran Ashwin and Hardik Pandya have been left out of the playing XI, making way for Ravindra Jadeja and Hanuma Vihari.
