Hello, and welcome to live coverage of India vs England 4th Test day three at Mumbai. India on day two responded well to England’s first innings total of 400 and at stumps were at 146 for one. Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara are the two unbeaten batsmen at the crease for India. Vijay and Pujara resume on an individual score of 70 and 47 respectively. Resuming on an overnight score of 288 for five, England managed to post 400 in their first innings. Middle-order batsman Jos Buttler guided his side to a respectable total after the visitors lost Ben Stokes early in the morning. Buttler scored 76 runs and received a valauble support from number ten batsman Jake Ball, who scored 31.
For India, it was the duo of Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja who shared the ten England wickets between them. Ashwin ended with six wickets while Jadeja picked the other four. Also Check- India vs England 4th Test Day 3- Highlights
India started their response in a watchful manner, but it did not take long for England to breakthrough. Moeen Ali removed KL Rahul as India lost their first wicket with just 39 runs on the board. Rahul’s wicket was the lone sucess England could brag about on day two. After Rahul’s dismissal, Vijay and Pujara joined hands for an impressive stand.
The duo added 107 runs for the second wicket and made sure India had a good day. Vijay during this partnership scored his 15th Test half-century while Pujara is three away from his fifty as well. On day three, the home side will be looking to get closer to England’s total first and then maybe take the lead as well.
