India defeated England by 142 runs in the third match of their T20I series, completing a 3-0 clean sweep. Earlier, India posted a total of 356 runs, thanks to centuries from Shubman Gill (112) and half-centuries from Shreyas Iyer (78) and Virat Kohli (52). In response, England were dismissed for 214 runs, with every bowler contributing to the wickets.
England started their chase strongly, scoring 60 runs in 6.2 overs. However, as has been the case in the series, once both openers were dismissed, the rest of the batting order collapsed. The spinners were effective in the middle overs, taking wickets and building pressure with maiden overs.
Arshdeep Singh (2/33), who replaced Mohammed Shami, bowled impressively, while Harshit Rana (2/31) initially gave away some runs with the new ball but returned strongly in his second spell, breaking the backbone of England’s batting by dismissing Jos Buttler.
