India vs England Tests: Prithvi Shaw, Hanuma Vihari Included, as India Announce 18-Member Squad For 4th, 5th Test, Twitter Erupts
Hanuma Vihari has scored 5142 runs in 63 matches with 15 centuries. He is someone who has worked up the ranks and not got his way through T20 performances.
India vs England Tests: India announces squad for the 4th and 5th Test after winning by 203 runs at Nottingham on the last day. The big talking point that came out post the announcement of the 18-member squad was the inclusion of Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari. And how could the social sphere not get into it, they did and they lavished praise for young Shaw and hardworking Hanuma Vihari, who has led Andhra Pradesh well in the domestic circuit apart from playing gritty knocks for India A.
But it seems the little master from Delhi is the hot favourite and has generated a huge following since the ICC U19 World Cup triumph. Shaw’s career is on the fast track and he thus has been careful of not allowing success to get to his head.
Here is how Twittersphere ushed praise for the two cricketers.
Big fan of #Hanuma Vihari – well deserved and may be a main stay in all three formats – I guess Vijay was dropped as he won’t get a chance in the series so good experience for Shaw #EngvsIndia @BoriaMajumdar

Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari earn a very well deserved call up to the National team!
I don’t think they’ll get a chance in Playing XI after the 3rd Test batting performance. But just the experience will be invaluable! @BCCI@bhogleharsha#ENGvINDhttps://t.co/f7dhqUFVzz— Parth Gudhka (@gudhkaparth) August 22, 2018
Prithivi Shaw – 18-year-old sensation – gets a call-up in the Indian Test squad. Is in great form
Hanuma Vihari, who averages nearly 60 in 63 FC games, gets picked
Scored 183 in the 2017-18 Irani Trophy final v Vidarbha
M Vijay & Kuldeep have been dropped
No Bhuvi yet#ENGvIND— Sarang Bhalerao (@bhaleraosarang) August 22, 2018
My hunch is also some changes will be made to India’s squad after 3rd Test, essentially among batsmen. Those not in playing XI at Trent Bridge unlikely to win favour again. Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, Hanuma Vihari frontrunners as replacements

Vihari has a first-class batting average of 59.79 which is the highest among the active players. He has scored 5142 runs in 63 matches with 15 centuries. He is someone who has worked up the ranks and not got his way through T20 performances.
Young Prithvi, on the other hand, knows what it feels like to wear the national cap. The question is who becomes India’s 292nd player after Rishabh Pant got his at Nottingham.
