New Delhi: Rain could play spoilsport in the third and final T20I between India and New Zealand at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The stadium will be making its international debut, however, chances are the match might be washed out.
As per weather.com, thunderstorms are likely to continue till 9 PM. However, the scheduled time for the match to begin is 7 PM. The weather is expected to clear after 9 PM. Thankfully, the drainage system is said to be better at the venue and if rain stops we could get a game.

Meanwhile, after 29 years the international cricket returns to Kerala. The last time Kerala hosted an international fixture was in 1988 during West Indies’s tour of India. The Greenfield International Stadium will be India’s 50th international venue.
The three-match T20I series is currently levelled at one each. India won the opening match in Delhi by 53 runs. It was then New Zealand who bounced back in style to register a 40-run victory and thus levelled the series.
If this match is washed out, it will be the second consecutive T20I series for India that will end as a draw. Before New Zealand, India faced Australia in a three-match series as well and the final T20I was washed out in Hyderabad after both teams had won one match each.
