India 198/5 in 33.4 overs India sail home by 5 wickets. In the end, it was Mahipal Lomror’s blitz that took the team home. Washington Sundar did well to hang in there and get the job done. Good way for India to start the tournament.

India 168/4 in 29 overs Sarfaraz is in cruise control and it almost looks like man against a bunch of boys. On a wicket that was doing a bit, the Mumbai batsman shows scant regard about the conditions and India are well on course to complete a win. Washington Sundar is lending his partner good support and the three-time champs are edging closer to the target.

India 87/3 in 16 overs Cometh the hour, Cometh the man and Sarfaraz comes to the party. The Mumbai batsman has played some spanking some shots on both sides of the wicket. Already, he has brought up seven boundaries during his stay at the crease. Earlier, Salman Fayyaz had removed Ricky Bhui. Sarfaraz’s fellow Mumbai batsman, Armaan Jaffer has joined him at the crease.

India 36/2 in 9 overs Pakistan are right back in the contest and now both the Indian openers are back in the hut. The conditions are bowler-friendly and Hasan Mohsin is making the best use of it. Rishabh Pant is dismissed. India now need Sarfaraz Khan and Ricky Bhui to take the team forward.

India 25/1 in 3.4 overs The Indian openers, skipper Ishan Jaggi and ‘keeper Rishabh Pant got off to a flying start but the Pakistanis have applied the brakes. Hasan Mohsin, after getting flayed in his first over effects the dismissal of Jaggi, who is caught behind. Game on!

Pakistan 197 in 44.1 Overs India make lightwork of the Pakistan tail, capping off a fantastic bowling display. Khaleel Ahmed was simply majestic and ends up with figures of 5 for 30. All the other bowlers, including the part-timers chipped in with the ball. Some of Umar, Fayyaz and Mohsin got starts  but neither of them got a big score. It reflects in the team’s paltry score. While the pitch has plenty in it for the bowlers, Pakistan are 20 runs short here.

Pakistan 179/8 in 42 Overs Pakistan have failed to make their advantage count. Khasin Ahmed has been terrific in his second spell and the middle-order batsmen barely make an impact. The runs have also been hard to come by and most of the batsmen got out trying to go for big shots. Hasan Mohsin was stitching a good innings but his departure may well signal the end of Pakistan’s hopes in this innings.

Pakistan 100/4 in 29 Overs Off-Spinner Washington Sundar was brought on and he immediately got the wicket of Gauhar Hafeez. Even Arman Jaffer got a chance to roll his arm and he ended up getting a wicket too. Salman Faiyiz is set and the onus is on him to get the team to a good score

Pakistan 76/2 in 20.4 Overs Mahipal Lormor gets the second wicket for India and it is the crucial breakthrough of Umar, who was going hell for leather. The Pakistan batsman tried yet another expansive shot and ended up being bowled. Gauhar Hafeez is steadily moving along. OUT! Mohammad Umar b Lormor 36 (54)

Pakistan 28/1 in 7 Overs The batsmen at the crease, Gauhar Hafeez and Mohammad Umar are watchful as the Indian bowlers continue to hit the right lengths. The pitch is not conducive for batting but Umar is getting is eye and cracked a six off the bowling of  Avesh Khan

Pakistan 19/1 in 6 Overs India get a breakthrough and it is Khallel Ahmed with the breakthrough. The ball shapes outside off-stump and skipper Zeeshan Malik nicks it to the keeper. The bowler deserves his reward for some fine bowling. OUT! Z Malik c Pant b Ahmed 12 (24)

Pakistan 14/0 in 4 Overs Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed open the bowling for India and skipper Zeeshan Malik has played a couple of handsome shots to the boundary. However, they are watchful, a word that has little relevance with the ground still foggy

This will be a truncated 45-over encounter between the two sides

The match is all set to get under way. Pakistan have won the toss and elected to bat

– Heavy fog in Dhaka has ensured a delayed start to the game.

Hello and welcome to the warm-up match between India and Pakistan Under-19 at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No 4 Ground in Savar. This may be a warm-up game but given the history, rivalry and the politics that these two share, one can bet that the two teams are not going to be giving each other an inch. India are three-time champions. The current lot under Ishan Kishan might not have the pedigree and the hype surrounding them, as some of the Indian sides have had over the decades gone by. However, some of the players have already had some quality experience in domestic cricket. They have been mentored by batting legend Rahul Dravid, and might well emerge as the surprise package of the tournament.

The Indians started their campaign by registering a whopping 372-run win against Canada, with skipper Ishan Kishan and Ricky Bhui leading the charge. They will not have it that easy here but certainly look the more complete of the two sides.
