New Delhi: India is all set to face their arc-rival Pakistan on Sunday December 14 in Group A match of the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai. The highly anticipated encounter has already grabbed everyone’s attention, thanks to the dominant starts both teams have made in the tournament.
India crushed the United Arab Emirates by 234 runs, while Pakistan defeated Malaysia by 297 runs. Meanwhile, the openers from both the side delivered a standout performances.
Young sensation batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 171 off 95 balls which featured nine fours and 14 sixes, while his Pakistan’s Sameer Minhas smashed 177 not out off 148 balls, which included 11 fours and eight sixes.
India U-19 team delivered an all-round performance apart from Suryavanshi’s remarkable knock, Aaron George (69) and Vihaan Malhotra (69) smashed with crucial half-centuries, while Vedant Trivedi (38), Abhigyan Kundu (32), and Kanishk Chouhan (28) provided an impressive finishing touch, taking the total to 433/6
This is also India’s highest total in U-19 ODIs and the third-highest score in men’s U-19 one-day cricket. Suryavanshi’s innings came at a strike rate of 180, reaching his half-century in just 30 balls, while he faced 56 ball to reach his century, and his 150 in 84 balls.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan U-19 team facing Malaysia U-19 was also wreaking havoc. Centuries from Ahmed Hussain and debutant Sameer Minhas guided Pakistan U-19 to 345 for 3, before their bowlers dismissed Malaysia for just 48 in 19.4 overs.
Minhas grabbed the spotlight with an unbeaten 177 off 148 balls, which featured 11 fours and eight sixes to earn the Player of the Match award. He stitched a massive 293-run partnership with Hussain, who scored 132 off 114 balls, establishing Pakistan’s dominance right from the start.
Malaysia never recovered from early setbacks in their chase, as Ali Raza struck with the new ball to take 3-11. Mohammad Sayyam also claimed three wickets, while Daniyal Ali Khan and Niqab Shafiq contributed, sealing a comprehensive victory for Pakistan U-19.
