South Africa defeated India by 51 runs in the second T20I on Thursday, levelling the five-match series 1-1.
Quinton de Kock played a brilliant innings, scoring a quick 90 off 46 balls with seven sixes and five fours to help South Africa reach 213 for 4 after being asked to bat. Donovan Ferreira (30*) and David Miller (20*) added a strong finish.
India’s chase never got going as the Proteas’ bowlers reduced them to 32/3 in the powerplay. The hosts struggled to keep up with the required rate and were all out for 162 in 19.1 overs. Tilak Varma fought hard with 62 off 34 balls, but it wasn’t enough.
For India, Varun Chakravarthy was the standout bowler, taking 2/29. Ottneil Baartman also bowled well, picking up 4/24.
