India vs West Indies 1st Test Rajkot: India captain Virat Kohli hit the nets for a batting session on the eve of the first Test against West Indies shows that he is raring to go. Kohli was not a part of the Asia Cup squad as he was taking rest as permitted by BCCI. Now, it seems ICC No 1 batsman in the world is looking to go out there and make a point against Windies ahead of the Australian tour. In the nets, he found the middle of the bat on a number of occasions. He also coped with a yorker with complete authority, just showing he can do nothing wrong.

Earlier, Kohli amassed a staggering 593 runs in England and was by some distance the highest run-getter in the series, including both sides.

Here is a glimpse of Kohli in the nets.

Meanwhile, a 12-man squad has been announced for the Rajkot Test where Prithvi Shaw is set to make his debut. Hanuma Vihari not included is a big surprise as he performed well in his maiden innings in England, where he scored 56 runs and he also came good with the ball in the final Test at Oval. He could have been the third spinner along with R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja but skipper Virat Kohli went for a regular in form of Kuldeep Yadav.

The squad:

Virat Kohli (c), KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (wk), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Md. Shami, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur
