India vs West Indies 1st Test Rajkot: India announced a 12-member squad for the first Test against West Indies at Rajkot and the big talking point was the inclusion of Prithvi Shaw. He in all probability is set to be the 293rd Test cricketer for India. And it seems he will open the batting along with KL Rahul. Just after the announcement, Shaw was seen timing the ball beautifully in the nets. He stroked the ball in the nets and found the middle of the bat on most occasions. BCCI posted the video which read, “Young @PrithviShaw is all set to make his Test debut tomorrow at Rajkot. How well does he time the ball?”

Meanwhile, after a splendid debut, Hanuma Vihari was ignored, whereas he could have played as the third spinner, but Kohli went with Kuldeep Yadav. Also, Mayank Agarwal was not picked.
Earlier in the day, Kohli also had a net and looked good and seemed like he is raring to go after taking a break from the Asia Cup.

In all likelihood, it seems there is going to be a toss-up between Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur as only one player will make the final XI.
The squad:
Virat Kohli (c), KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (wk), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Md. Shami, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur
