India vs West Indies 2nd ODI: India captain Virat Kohli’s 37th century may not have helped India win the second ODI at Vizag as it ended in a tie, but Kohli’s breathtaking 157* unbeaten helped him bag the Man of the Match. Kohli now has 60 Man of the Mtach+ Man of the Series awards combined which makes him third in the elite list. He surpassed Kumar Sangakkara (59), Ricky Ponting (59). Sachin Tendulkar is at the top of the list on this with a whopping 95 to his name.

He also became the Indian captain with the most Man of the Match awards as he surpassed MS Dhoni to the feat.

Earlier in the day, Kohli became the fastest to reach 10,000 ODI runs in merely his 205th innings. He went past the likes of Sachin Tendulkar (259 innings) and Sourav Ganguly (263 innings), Ricky Ponting (266 innings) and Rahul Dravid (287 innings) to put his name on the top of the table.
Overall, he became the 13th cricketer in the world to gun down the daunting 10K mark. The 29-year old is already the No.11 batsman in the world in Tests and ODIs apart from being a part of a World Cup-winning team. His average of 58.69 is the highest in ODI cricket history (minimum 50 innings), just shows that he is way ahead of his contemporaries.
Kohli also scaled another magnificent record as he becomes the fastest batsman in terms of career-span to reach the 10,000- club. He achieved the feat in 10 years and 67 days from his ODI debut. Rahul Dravid was the previous fastest in terms of career span (10 years, 317 Days).
