India vs West Indies 2nd Test at Hyderabad: Do they have a plan? Well, it was unusual to see India captain Virat Kohli, youngster Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul smack balls during India’s net session on the eve of the Hyderabad Test against Windies. It was strange as they are usually seen leaving balls and playing textbook shots, trying to tighten their technique ahead of a Test match, but it seems the lack of experience of the Windies bowling unit has given Kohli and the Indian cricketers a new way of going ahead in Hyderabad. If that is the case, the Hyderabad Test could see a lot of balls being hit out of the park, which would be extremely exciting from a fans point. BCCI posted the video which read, “Whack whack whack at the nets.”
Meanwhile, home side India has already taken a 1-0 lead in the ongoing two-Test series after thumping the visiting side by an innings and 272 runs at Rajkot. In that match, debutant Prithvi Shaw set the stage alight by smashing a maiden ton, local boy Ravindra Jadeja impressed fans by getting to his maiden Test century. Captain Kohli continued his dominant form in Test cricket by getting to his 24th Test ton. All in all, it was an emphatic victory for India.
Twenty four hours ahead of the Hyderabad Test, the Indian team has been announced and Mayank Agarwal still does not find a spot in the squad, whereas India has retained the same XII. The selection has also drawn flak as fans feel it was necessary to give the bench strength a go ahead of the all-important Australia tour, but it seems the captain and the team management is not on the same page as the fans.
