India vs West Indies 2nd Test:  Captain Virat Kohli was once again spotted egging on the fans present at Hyderabad during the ongoing 2nd Test. Kohli was doing this during Day 3 of the Test when the Windies were batting in the second innings. This is not the first time we have seen the captain do that. He was also seen doing that in England when India toured. The world’s No 1 batsman is known to create a mood, even when things are monotonous. It was also good to see the crowd responding instantly, just goes to show the respect a cricketer commands in India. Pant, Shaw and Rahane missed out on hundreds as India managed to score 367 runs in their first innings after the Windies put on 311 in their first innings. Umesh Yadav starred with the ball for India picking up a 10-wicket haul for the Test. He picked six wickets in the first innings and four in the second. Umesh was also on a hat-trick twice in the match.

Meanwhile, Windies captain Jason Holder picked up a five-wicket haul to bundle out India for 367. Not only did he pick up five wickets to become the bowler with the highest number of wickets in 2018 (As of October 14) but also broke a 100-year-old record. Jason Holder’s bowling average of 11.87 this year is the best for any fast bowler in a calendar year in the last 100 years (30+ wkts). He went past former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar to the phenomenal record. In the third place in the coveted list is former Kiwi great Sir Richard Hadlee. Earlier, the Windies captain also hit a half-century with the bat. He finished with figures of 56/5.

At the time of filing the copy, India needed 56 to win the Test.
