India vs West Indies 2nd Test: Considered as one of the best fielders in the team, Ravindra Jadeja nearly hit the umpire with a bullet throw and once it did not hit, the two also had a laugh. The episode transpired in the second innings when the Windies were batting. Ambris hit a half-volley of Umesh Yadav straight back. Jadeja at mid-long on cut it with a slide and then he threw the ball to hit the wicket. It seemed he did not realise the umpire was yet to move out of the way. Luckily, it did not cause any damage to anyone as both the umpire and the fielder had a laugh over it as the accident was averted.
At that stage, Windies had just got into the lead and were 63/4.
Meanwhile, Windies captain Jason Holder picked up a five-wicket haul to bundle out India for 367. Not only did he pick up five wickets to become the bowler with the highest number of wickets in 2018 (As of October 14) but also broke a 100-year-old record. Jason Holder’s bowling average of 11.87 this year is the best for any fast bowler in a calendar year in the last 100 years (30+ wkts). He went past former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar to the phenomenal record. In the third place in the coveted list is former Kiwi great Sir Richard Hadlee. Earlier, the Windies captain also hit a half-century with the bat. He finished with figures of 56/5 to finish India for 367 runs.
Earlier, Windies won the toss and opted to bat first, they scored 311 runs. For India, Pant and Rahane missed out on hundreds, so did Prithvi Shaw who was out for 70.
Meanwhile, Umesh Yadav has already picked three wickets in the second innings by tea on Day 3. He had earlier scalped six wickets in the first innings and has been on a hattrick twice already in the ongoing match.
