India vs West Indies 5th ODI: Rohit Sharma has been in scintillating six-hitting form and the baffling part of it is the ease at which he has been hitting them off-late. There is a sense of nonchalance about it and grace, power comes in later. He has been timing the ball better than ever before and that helped him become the fastest to hit 200 sixes in ODI cricket history. He brought up the feat during the fifth ODI at Trivandrum which India won by nine wickets and clinched the five-match ODI series 3-1. His 63 off 56 balls comprised of five fours and four humungous sixes. The 30-year old pipped the likes of – Shahid Afridi, AB De Villiers, Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, and MS Dhoni to reach the landmark. He reached the feat in his 187th game. But, what took all Rohit Sharma fans by surprise was the way he celebrated it. Also Read - ENG vs WI 1st Test: Stuart Broad 'Frustrated, Angry, Gutted' After Being Dropped From England Playing XI
He tonked a back of a length ball from Jason Holder for a towering six over mid-wicket and it seemed even he did not expect the ball to go that far and hence his tongue came out as if he too was surprised. This was the first time fans got to see this reaction from Rohit.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma created a new record by surpassing Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid to become fastest to 4000 ODI run as a pair. Rohit-Kohli reached the milestone in merely 66 partnerships whereas Sourav-Dravid took 80 partnerships to reach the milestone.
