West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels playing his 200th ODI registered a record he will not be proud of. He scored a duck in his and joined Brian Lara to become the second Windies cricketer to score a duck in their 200th ODI. Samuels was leg before wicket to a slider from Yuzvendra Chahal in the 16th over.
Meanwhile, after blanking the Windies in the two-match Test series India is taking the touring team on in the ODI format. India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to field first. Shimrom Hetmyer scored a breathtaking century, his third to take the Windies total past 300. It was the fifth time the Windies cricket team reached 300 in ODI’s after the 2015 World Cup. Yuzvendra Chahal picked three wickets and was the pick of the bowlers for the home side.
