Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his seventh Test century as India took control on the first day of the second match against West Indies, ending the day at 318 for two on Friday.
India, leading the two-match series 1-0, chose to bat first after winning the toss. Jaiswal was not out on 173 runs from 253 balls when the day’s play finished at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Sai Sudharsan, given an important chance at the No. 3 spot by the selectors and team, played well and scored 87 runs from 165 balls. KL Rahul got out early after scoring 38.
At the end of the day, captain Shubman Gill was batting alongside Jaiswal with 20 runs.
Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican took both wickets for the West Indies, finishing with 2 wickets for 60 runs in 20 overs. The West Indies had another tough day after losing badly in the first match in Ahmedabad.
