Dilpreet Singh scored his second goal of the match in the third quarter. Sukhjeet Singh scored a goal in the opening minute of the match to give India the lead. After this, India made several attempts in the first quarter, but did not succeed. After this, Dilpreet scored a goal in the second quarter to increase India’s lead to 2-0. A big mistake in the first quarter was made by India’s Jugraj Singh, who failed to score a goal on a penalty stroke.
The Indian men’s hockey team defeated South Korea 4-1 in the final to win the Asia Cup title and secure a spot in next year’s World Cup. South Korea, the defending champions from 2022, managed to score only once, with Dain Son finding the net in the 51st minute.
India finished the tournament without losing a single match, securing five victories and one draw. Under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Singh, the team won all three of their group-stage games. In the Super 4 stage, they defeated Malaysia 4-1 and China 7-0, while their match against South Korea ended in a 2-2 draw.
This marks India’s fourth Asia Cup win, with previous titles coming in 2003, 2007, and 2017. South Korea have claimed the trophy five times in 1994, 1999, 2009, 2013, and 2022. The upcoming Hockey World Cup is scheduled to take place in Belgium and the Netherlands from August 14 to 30, 2026.
