ICC Women’s World T20, India Women vs Australia Women: India women cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur created a world record surpassing Windies Deandra Dottin and Australia’s Meg Lanning to register most number of sixes in a single edition of ICC Women’s World T20. Kaur reached the feat during the match against Australia women. She now has 10 sixes to her name compared to nine from Deandra Dottin (2010), and eight from Meg Lanning (2014). Kaur already smashed a breathtaking ton in the ongoing tournament in the opening match of the competition against New Zealand Women. She smashed 103 off 51 balls which was studded with eight sixes. She also stands a chance of going past Deandra’s record of most sixes in ICC Women’s World T20 ever. Kaur already has 15 sixes and counting, whereas Deandra has 18 to her name.
Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana has registered a fifty which also happens to be the fastest fifty by an Indian woman in ICC Women’s World T20. She brought up her fifty in 31 balls going past the previous record set by Kaur, who hit a fifty against New Zealand in 33 balls.
At the time of filing the copy, Kaur was out for a breathtaking 43 off 27 balls. Her innings was studded with three sixes and three fours.
