The two teams will meet each other in the first encounter of the three-match series beginning Friday (February 22) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. India have begun the new ICC championship cycle with three series win on foreign soil under their belt. The bandwagon started with a fin win over South Africa in 2018, besides another 2-1 victory over England in Nagpur last year. Barring a whitewash against Australia at home, the Indian women’s team had a stellar run in the 50-over format and it will give them a significant boost ahead of this home leg against reigning ODI champs England.

The bulk of batting responsibility will again be on Mandhana and Rodrigues, with skipper Mithali Raj possibly dropping down a slot in a relatively inexperienced middle-order.
