The explosions were reported as hundreds of worshipers gathered at the St. Anthony’s Church in Kochchikade, Kotahena, St. Sebastian’s Church in Katuwapitiya in Katana, and the Zion church in Batticaloa to commemorate Easter Sunday. The reports sent shock waves across the world and social media was flooded with posts of condolences and grief. As per reports, intelligence sources hinted at ISI’s hand in the attack. The attack was targeted at Indians on the direction of ISI, reports said.
Kohli wrote on his official Twitter account: “Shocked to hear the news coming in from Sri Lanka. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragedy. #PrayForSriLanka”
