India registered a 246-run win over England in the second Test at Vizag to take 1-0 lead in the five-match series. England while chasing a daunting target of 405 runs were bundled out for 158 runs on day five of the Test. Virat Kohli was adjudged man of the match for his outstanding performance with the bat. The Indian captain after scoring 167 in the first innings scored 81 in his second outing. Kohli was top scorer in both the innings.
On day four India were bowled out for 204 runs but thanks to their first innings lead of 200 runs, the home side set a target of 404 runs for England. England team’s reply began on a positive note with openers Alastair Cook and Haseeb Hameed sharing 75-run stand. However, late in the day, England lost both its openers. It was an uphill task for England on day five with home team needing only eight wickets to win. Ashwin provided India the early breakthrough and removed Ben Duckett. England then kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out just after the lunch break. As soon as India clinched victory, fans on social networking site Twitter were all praises for the team India. Twitterati were in celebratory mood and why not as number one Test ranked side India continue to be impressive.

After the first Test ended in a draw, hosts India were keen to take an early lead in the series. While the conditions favoured spin bowling, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara set the tone with a partnership of 226 runs for the third wicket in first innings.
