Earlier, a day after ace shuttler Saina Nehwal expressed surprise over her father being denied an entry into the Commonwealth Games 2018 village at Gold Coast, Australia, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Tuesday came out with a clarification to the badminton star.
The IOA pointed out that Saina’s father – Harvir Singh – was accredited as ‘extra official’ and according to rules the facilities extended to him didn’t include a room in the CWG village.
The Indian shuttlers will begin their campaign in the Commonwealth Games from April 5.
