Indian Premier League 2019: Chennai Super Kings welcomed the new-look Delhi Capitals in style. Delhi Daredevils recently renamed its franchise as Delhi Capitals and that got the CSK impressed who welcomed them in a tweet. The tweet posted by CSK read, “Super happy to welcome the all new @DelhiCapitals. To put it in Thamizh, varuga varuga #ThalaNagaram! #WhistlePodu.”

Meanwhile, Delhi’s team management and top bosses conducted an official event for announcing the change, the event was live streamed on popular social media platform – Facebook. Ahead of the IPL 2019 player auction, the Delhi franchise also unveiled their new logo, with three tigers on its emblem at the event.
Ahead of the 2019 IPL auctions, the Delhi Daredevils released former captain Gautam Gambhir and a host of international stars which include Jason Roy, Glenn Maxwell and Liam Plunkett, along with Indian paceman Mohammed Shami.
Hailed as perennial underachievers in the history of IPL, Delhi were in the news lately for surprising their fans ahead of the IPL player auction 2019. The two big changes were snubbing of local star – Gautam Gambhir, who was brought from Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 2.9 Cr was not retained ahead of the auction.
Co-owned by JSW Sports and GMR Group, the ‘Daredevils’, one of the original IPL teams from 2008, have not been able to win a single title in 11 seasons.
A couple of weeks later, the IPL auctions are set to take place. The Delhi Capitals will have INR 25 crore to spend at the auctions which is set to take place on December 18.
