Indian Premier League 2019: Former Kolkata Knight Riders player Mitchell Johnson ripped apart a fan on social media after he was trolled. The eastern franchise released the 37-year-old speedster after the franchise came out with the list of players retained. Johnson and Mitchell Starc the two Australians did not find a spot. Johnson retired from international cricket in 2015 when he last featured for the Australian team in a Test against the Kiwis, since then he has been playing league cricket. He was earlier a part of the Mumbai Indians set up before KKR roped him in for a base price of Rs 2 Cr. The fan took Twitter and wrote, “You don’t have a choice Mitch! Still begging for an IPL spot eh?”

This apparently did not go down well with the cricketer whose response was, “I retired from cricket earlier this year so your msg makes no sense.”

The former Australian cricketer did not have a season to remember in 2018 where he managed to scalp merely two wickets from six games at an economy of 10.28 and certainly looked a pale shadow of his glorious past which may have prompted the KKR scouts to do away with him.

Meanwhile, KKR has managed to retain a familiar core and will be looking to do some shopping in the next month’s player auctions which are slated to be held on December 17-18 in Jaipur.
