Everton and Australian football team legend Tim Cahill is set to take the 2018 campaign of the Indian Super League by storm. He was also a part of the Australian team that took part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Cahill’s best performance in club football came for Premier League (England’s top-flight football league club Everton where he is regarded as a club legend. He has starred in over 225 games in the Premier League, scoring 56 and assisting over 23 goals in the blue divide of the Merseyside outfit.
Joining Jamshedpur FC, Tim Cahill, is the ‘big-name’signing of 2018, that ISL tends to vacuum every year. There have been some legendary footballers that have graced the Indian Super League in the likes of Del Piero, Roberto Carlos, Robert Pires, Freddie Ljungberg, Anelka, Dimitar Berbatov etc.
Cahill will give Jamshedpur FC an edge in terms of goal-scoring and experience- something they need that, because last year, Jamshedpur was the second lowest goal scorer of the tournament.
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is a fan favorite among the Bengaluru FC fans, he brings to the table a telling figure of 6ft 4 guiding the goal, international experience and is one of the most highly-rated Indian footballers at the ISL. Last year, Sandhu played in his first ISL campaign, conceding just 17 goals in 19 appearances.
He also made 46 saves and held 7 clean sheets, 115 catches, and 37 clearances under his name. There are some high-expectations from India’s first-team regular goalkeeper.
This Brazilian midfielder is one of the most prominent figures on the field for Chennaiyin FC, he brings something similar to Chennaiyin like what Paul Pogba brings to Manchester United- a tall dominating figure who can dribble past defenders, with good passing abilities and can score goals too.
He was one of the finest midfielders in the fourth season of the ISL and is a good play-maker for his side but he can adapt to different roles in the midfield.
This 21-year-old lad from Mizoram caught the eyes in the 2017 campaign of the Indian Super League, he was also hailed by Nita Ambani as one of the brightest prospects of last year’s campaign. He holds the staggering record of scoring the quickest goal (22 sec) in the ISL, which he scored against Kerala Blasters. He is quick and has good passing abilities. He will surely look to shine again this campaign, watch out for him, he is one of Indian football’s brightest prospects.
This 27-year-old never fails to impress in the ISL, and is an established name among the most prolific Indian goal-scorers in the league. He is Chennaiyin FC’s prized-possession and his quick feet and goal scoring abilities are easily notable. He will look to repeat his stellar form from last year’s campaign.
