Nasser Hussain commentating from the slip cordon headlined the charity match played between ICC World XI and West Indies. West Indies won the match comprehensively by 72 runs, Evin Lewis starred with 58 off 26 balls, comprising of 5 sixes. Lewis set the Lord’s stadium on fire with his big-hitting. All that is fine, but how does one explain what former English captain Nasser Hussain was up to. He was commentating from slips, literally! We bet no one has seen something of this nature on a cricket field ever.

Hussain was strolling around and speaking to speaking to spectators who were positioned close to the boundary ropes. Cricket has never seen fans getting so close to the real action. Hussain seemed everywhere from speaking to the players to also having a say in field settings. One can safely say this match was played semi-seriously. He was also asking people (Gayle), who is going to bowl the next over.

Earlier, West Indies put up a daunting 200 runs for World XI to chase. Chasing 200, Shahid Afridi’s ICC WXI was bundled out for a paltry 127. Thisara Perera top scored with 61, but in vain. After the match Afridi made a generous donation of 20000$ for Hurricane victims.
