The right-handed batsman is in the second year of the Indian Premier League 2016 after being bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for 50 Lakhs in 2015. Sarfaraz made his debut against Chennai Super Kings and coming in at number six managed to score on 11 runs. However, in his second IPL match, he rose to fame with breathtaking 45 off just 21 balls against Rajasthan Royals. In his first season of IPL, he finished with 111 runs from 13 matches. In the first match this season, Sarfaraz slammed 11-ball 35 to exhibit his stroke making capabilities yet again.
