Bhuvneshwar Kumar dished out a match-winning performance for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Kings XI Punjab. Bhuvneshwar claimed a five-wicket haul, second of the Indian Premier League 2017, and helped Sunrisers prevail in a closely fought contest. The fast bowler not only picked wickets in the powerplay but was equally effective in the death overs.
After his match-winning effort, his Sunrisers teammate, Naman Ojha, felt that Bhuvi has improved a lot over the course of a year. “I think there’s a lot of improvement in his bowling when compared to last season, to keep playing at the highest level, you need to keep working hard else your career-graph comes down very quickly,” Ojha said after the match. Ojha himself made a valuable contribution in SRH’s win. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored 20-ball 34 at a time when his team was in trouble. Ojha fabricated a crucial 60-run stand with his captain David Warner and that helped SRH post a decent total. “I just played my natural game,” Ojha said.

The wicketkeeper-batsman also stated that he would bat wherever his team wants him. “Whatever cricket I have played, be it at the state-level, zonal-level, or even in the IPL, it has been at the top of the order. But in Shikhar (Dhawan) and Warner, we have two excellent openers and that means I have to bat in the middle-order, it has certainly affected my scoring opportunities, but I will continue to do the needful for my team,” he concluded.
