Let’s take a look at top five bowlers who can turn the game around for their respective teams in the upcoming season of IPL:
Mustafizur Rahman – Sunrisers Hyderabad: Bangladesh’s left-arm pace sensation Rahman had a terrific IPL debut season when he picked up 17 wickets in 16 matches for SRH. He is known as the “cutter master” for bowling deceptive cutters. Other than cutters, Rahman is also known for his ability to swing and reverse swing the ball well. He is a lethal weapon in death overs as he can trouble the batsmen and stop them from slogging.
Imran Tahir – Rising Pune Supergiant: Tahir is the number one bowler in the ICC ODI and T20I rankings. He is a leg break bowler and his speciality is bowling googly. The South African bowler was released by Delhi Daredevils last season and it came as a shock when he was not picked by any team in the IPL 2017 auction. However, later Tahir found his place in RPS and replaced Mitchell Marsh who was ruled out of IPL 2017 due to injury. In his 20 IPL matches, he has taken 29 wickets. Tahir will be keen to prove his worth in upcoming season of IPL and show everyone that why he is the number one bowler in the limited over format of the game.
Kagiso Rabada – Delhi Daredevils: He is a young pacer from South Africa who made an impressive debut against Bangladesh in which he took 6/16. Rabada consistently touches speeds of 150kmph and has taken wickets of experienced batsmen. His weapon is to swing the ball both ways and the variations which make it hard for the batsmen to read the ball. He is lethal with the new ball as well as in the death overs. Rabada will be making his debut in IPL in the upcoming season and he will be eager to showcase his talent.
Rashid Khan – Sunrisers Hyderabad: Khan is one of the two Afghanistan players who got picked up for the IPL first time and that too for the whopping amount of Rs 4 crores. The eighteen-year-old leg-spinner is known for his googly and firing on the target. Recently he became the youngest at the age of 18 years and 185 days to claim 50 ODI wickets. He also picked up nine wickets in three matches in the T20I series against Ireland. Rashid will also have the advantage of surprising the rival teams with his performance as not many batsmen have played against him which will make it difficult for them to predict his turn.
Tymal Mills – Royal Challengers Bangalore: He is the explosive fast bowler who made headlines when he was grabbed by RCB for the massive amount of Rs 12 crores in IPL 2017 auction. That’s a huge amount for someone who is making his debut in IPL. The England bowler impressed with his express pace in the three T20Is against India earlier this year. Mills is capable of speeds comfortably in excess of 90mph and the left-armer has an overall economy of 7.28 in the death overs — second in the world of cricket only to Mustafizur Rahman. He will be eager to justify the enormous price tag when he comes out to play for RCB in the opening match of IPL 10.
