Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma left fuming as the on-field umpire S.Ravi’s decision went against his side during the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Saturday night.

Mumbai Indians batting first set a 174 runs target for the Kolkata Knight Riders. The home team, in reply, lost five wickets for 87 runs. However, KKR’s middle-order batsmen Manish Pandey and Colin de Grandhomme built an important partnership that brought KKR back into the game.

In the 14th over of the match, Mitchell Johnson bowled a brilliant delivery that took an edge of Manish Pandey’s bat and wicket-keeper Ambati Rayudu who took an easy catch.

However, Mumbai Indian’s  players, especially wicket-keeper Raydu and skipper Rohit Sharma were left shocked, as umpire S Ravi was not convinced with Mumbai Indians players’ appeal as he said there was no edge of the bat and gave his decision as not out.

Raydu was the first to express his disappointment at the decision as he was convinced the ball taken a slight edge from underneath the bat.

Meanwhile, skipper Rohit could not believe his eyes that umpire has given the decision in favour of the batsman and after shouting his displeasure; he held his head in his hands and sat on the floor.

However, this decision didn’t cost Mumbai as they recorded a well-deserved nine runs victory over Gautam Gambhir’s side. Mumbai are now at the top of the points table with 20 points in 14 matches.
